Crime Report: Burglaries Decline, Car Thefts Rise Slightly

Statistics on property and violent crime from mid-July to mid-August.

Burglaries and auto theft declined in the Los Angeles Police Department's Pacific Division, which includes Mar Vista, as robberies and aggravated assaults rose slightly, according to statistics released this week by police.

The largest decline percentage-wise in crime was grand theft auto, down 23 percent from 66 auto thefts between June 19 to July 16 to 51 stolen vehicles from July 17 to Aug. 13.

The list below is a summary of crime statistics from July 17-Aug. 13. Please note these statistics only reflect those crimes reported to the LAPD's Pacific Division.
