Driver Hits Pedestrian, Drives off, Leaves Victim in Coma

Did you see it happen? If so, the LAPD wants to talk to you.

Police today sought the public's help in locating a driver who hit a pedestrian in Venice and then drove from the scene, leaving the victim comatose and in critical condition.

The crash happened around 6:50 p.m. on Jan. 18 at the intersection of Lincoln Boulevard and Rose Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The victim was crossing Lincoln Boulevard eastbound from the southwest curb at the intersection and was hit by an unknown vehicle traveling east on Rose Avenue and turning south onto Lincoln, police said.

Anyone with information about the crash was urged to call Det. Connie White of the LAPD's West Traffic Division at (213) 473-0234. Anonymous tips can be made by calling Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
