Former 'Scandal' Star Columbus Short Pleads Not Guilty to Own Scandal

He's accused of punching a man at a West Los Angeles restaurant in March.

Former Scandal start Columbus Short pleaded not guilty today to a felony charge of aggravated battery that allegedly occurred at a West Los Angeles Bar.

Short is accused of punching a 37-year-old man -- knocking him out -- at Gabe's Bar and Grill while attending an engagement party March 15, according to the District Attorney's Office and TMZ.com.

The victim was knocked unconscious and suffered a broken nose, according to TMZ.

A prosecutor in the video above describes the injuries like this:

"He was cold-cocked, knocked unconscious. He has a fractured left eye socket. He landed -- he was hit on the left side of the face and he dropped to the ground, on the asphalt on the back of his head. He has a huge hematoma. These are pretty serious injuries."
