LAPD Seeks 'Person of Interest' in Connection with Mar Vista Rape

Police are releasing images of a man described as a "person of interest" in the May 31 rape of a Mar Vista woman who was attacked while taking a shower.

Police have circulated photos of a man described as a "person of interest" in the investigation of the rape of a Mar Vista woman who was attacked while taking a shower.

A woman in her 20s was taking a shower May 31 around 3:30 p.m. when a man entered her apartment and forcibly sexually assaulted her, police said Friday in a press release. The case is being investigated by officers with the Los Angeles Police Department's West Bureau sexual assault unit.

Detectives reviewed surveillance video from the apartment building and are seeking a person of interest/possible witness who was captured on the video.

Police said the attack appeared to be an isolated incident and should not cause alarm in the community.
