LAPD Seeks 'Person of Interest' in Connection with Mar Vista Rape

Police are releasing images of a man described as a "person of interest" in the May 31 rape of a Mar Vista woman who was attacked while taking a shower.

Police have circulated photos of a man described as a "person of interest" in the investigation of the rape of a Mar Vista woman who was attacked while taking a shower.

A woman in her 20s was taking a shower May 31 around 3:30 p.m. when a man entered her apartment and forcibly sexually assaulted her, police said Friday in a press release. The case is being investigated by officers with the Los Angeles Police Department's West Bureau sexual assault unit.

Detectives reviewed surveillance video from the apartment building and are seeking a person of interest/possible witness who was captured on the video.

Police said the attack appeared to be an isolated incident and should not cause alarm in the community.

Anyone with information about this crime or recognizing the person of interest was asked to contact the LAPD's sexual assault detail at 213-473-0447.

During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477).  Tipsters may also contact Crime Stoppers by texting to phone number 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S on most keypads) with a cell phone.  All text messages should begin with the letters “LAPD.” Tipsters may also go to LAPDOnline.org, click on "webtips" and follow the prompts.

Let me clarify: All I tried to do was re-link to the video that was dumped when Patch revised itsRead More format. The Festival of the Chariots won't be coming to Venice for months.

One year, long ago, Alice Coltrane performed. Anyone know the year? Definitely in the 70's.
