UPDATE: TMZ Video of Fatal Shooting

Another man was battered, police told Patch.

This article was modified at 3:05 p.m. Jan. 13, 2013, to include a link to a TMZ video of the nightclub shooting early Sunday morning.

One man was gunned down and another was beaten during a fight at a Hollywood nightclub that spilled onto the street, authorities said.

The fight -- or fights -- began at the club in the 1700 block of Cahuenga Boulevard, near Hollywood Boulevard, about 2 a.m., police said.

A TMZ.com video shows the fisticuffs taking place and a man being gunned down.

A woman in the area during the fight suffered a graze wound to the leg but refused to be taken to a hospital, Los Angeles police Sgt. Sal Ogaz told Patch.

Ogaz added that the battered man did not require hospitalization.

The cause of the melee and murder was under investigation.

The mayor appoints members of the Area Planning Commission and the City Planning Commission. Mayor Villaraigosa’s appointees think that there can never be too many night clubs in Hollywood. Every candidate for mayor must answer what his appointees will decide. We know where Councilman Garcetti stands – night clubs, night clubs, night clubs! He gets all exercises about the proliferation of fast food restaurants in South Central Los Angeles but ignores the effects of night clubs on the residents in Hollywood. Hollywood residents know who not to vote for as mayor.

We need LESS night clubs and more police. Hollywood does not need higher density and higher buildings. Forcing people to live like that can only turn to madness and violence. Like stuffing mice in a bucket.

Garcetti's "New Golden Age of Hollywood" is not so Golden.. He continuously brags at Debates how he has saved Hollywood and is responsible for it's come back. Some audiences may believe this nonsense. Hollywoodians know the Truth. Since he brokered the passing of the illegal, higher density, Hollywood Community Plan, to accommodate his developer funder's massive projects, there are now, and will be increases in violent crime on our Hollywood streets, as predicted. It will only get worse with a higher density Hollywood and understaffed emergency services.. Both he and LaBonge want more and more NightClubs in Hollywood, and many existing restaurants are applying for liquor licenses on a regular basis now, and wanting to serve more alcohol (become Nightlclubs) and less food. This is their 'Thriving' Hollywood. This skewed "Vision" for Hollywood is creating Havoc..and on going crimes (and shootouts) on a regular basis. Garcetti's response to the residents, who expressed concerns about the HCP and this new higher density Hollywood, at a City Council meeting: "If you don't like living in Hollywood..Move" Mayor material???
