Man Stabbed on Metro Bus in West L.A.

The incident occurred just after midnight near Bundy Drive and Wilshire Boulevard. Two men fled the scene.

A man was stabbed in the hand Wednesday during a fight with two other males on a Metro bus in West Los Angeles, a sheriff's lieutenant said.

The stabbing happened near Bundy Drive just after midnight aboard a line 720 bus westbound on Wilshire Boulevard, said Lt. Marc Lucio of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Transit Services Bureau.

The man got into an argument with two males, Lucio said. Then "the victim attempted to hit one of the individuals, who produced a small pocket knife and stabbed him in the hand," he said.

The man was taken to a hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury, Lucio said. The two males fled when the bus stopped at Wilshire and Bundy and were last seen headed west on Wilshire, he said.

A pool of blood was visible behind the bus driver's seat after the stabbing, according to a news photographer at the scene.
