A 25-year-old man stabbed his parents in the Venice canals area about 7:25 a.m. Thursday, critically injuring his mother, according to Los Angeles Police Department officer Sara Faden.
The attack happened on the 400 block of Carroll Canal Court. The suspect, whose name has not yet been released, stabbed his father, who suffered minor injuries and then stabbed his mother in the face and neck, according to Faden.
The assailant also suffered minor injuries during the attack and is currently being treated before he is booked. The suspect has been booked on charges of assault with a deadly weapon. It was unclear what he used to stab his parents.
