All lanes were reopened on the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway after a male pedestrian was fatally struck by at least one vehicle in Westchester today, authorities said.

It happened about 6:45 p.m., just north of Howard Hughes Parkway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Los Angeles fire department paramedics transported a man from the scene to a hospital, said CHP Officer Francisco Villalobos.

The man was pronounced dead at the hospital at 7:37 p.m., coroner's Investigator Kristy McCracken said.

The incident closed all lanes but one on the northbound 405 until about 8 p.m., the CHP said.
