A suspect has been arrested in a home invasion robbery and stabbing that happened on the 12000 block of National Boulevard Sunday night, wrote police on the Los Angeles Police Department Pacific Division's Facebook page.

Police believe the female victim was followed home, stabbed in a struggle and robbed, and that the suspect may be responsible for similar robberies in the city. The investigation continues.

A sergeant at the LAPD's Pacific Division said the suspect was taken into custody in downtown Los Angeles by officers from the Central Division. He said the case was being handled by detectives from the Robbery Homicide Division, and he could provide no other details, including the suspect's name.

The robbery and stabbing occurred at 8:33 p.m. Sunday at a home just east of Bundy Drive, in the Mar Vista area. The victim, who was stabbed in the abdomen, is expected to survive, whose name was not released, said Sgt. Corbin Rheault of the Pacific Division.

KCAL9 reported that a nearby convenience store's surveillance camera captured images of the suspect checking out the woman's car, and he then followed her home.

The suspect's vehicle, a white truck, was spotted at a burglary earlier.
