Man Killed in Hit-and-Run in Venice

Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the vehicle and driver that fled the scene.

A pedestrian was killed today in a hit-and-run crash in Venice.

The pedestrian, a 33-year-old man who was possibly a transient, was trying to cross a street when he was struck around midnight at the intersection of Venice and Lincoln boulevards, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The man's name was withheld, pending notification of relatives.

"Detectives' investigation revealed the motorist was driving a dark-colored vehicle, possibly a Toyota," according to police. "The motorist was described as a female, possibly white or Hispanic."
