Police Release Sketch of Man Wanted for Questioning in Marina del Rey Death

A 'courtesy patrol officer' at an upscale apartment complex was killed.

Sheriff's homicide detectives have released a sketch of a suspect in the fatal shooting of a "courtesy patrol officer" at a Marina del Rey apartment complex where he worked.

Deputies were called to the upscale apartment complex in the 4200 block of Via Marina at 2:48 a.m. Monday, according to Sgt. Amore Smith of the sheriff's Marina del Rey Station.

Patrick Odoikyene, 47, was found shot to death outside the Shores apartment complex.

The suspect was described as a man with a stocky, muscular build and shaved head, a goatee and a medium complexion. He was believed to be in his late-30s to mid-40s and is 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet 1 inches tall.

He was wearing a long-sleeved pullover black or blue hooded sweatshirt with white logo lettering on the front and back. He was also wearing black pants.

According to the sheriff's department, witnesses heard multiple gunshots and saw a man running from the scene.
