Two men, one with a pistol and a yellow bolt cutter, eluded officers on Monday after reports of a gunman on the roof of the Oakwood Apartments prompted police to set up a perimeter and dispatch a helicopter, officials said.
The report came in at about 7:40 p.m. and the Los Angeles Police Department set up a perimeter between Washington Boulevard, Via Dolce, Via Marina and an alley north of Panay Way around 8:30 p.m., and dispatched a helicopter as officers looked for the armed suspect, officials said.
Officers broke down the perimeter around 10 p.m. and made no arrests.
Police described the suspects as white or hispanic teenagers with dark hoodies and shorts. One suspect has shoulder-length hair.
