Resident Brings in Replica Mortar Round to LAPD Station

It may be inert but appears to be some kind of military ordnance, an officer says.

UPDATE at 8:55 p.m.: The possible mortar round that a person brought to the LAPD's Pacific Station at 12312 Culver Blvd. turned out to be a replica, according to Officer Bruce Borihanh of the Media Relations Section.

A Los Angeles police officer says the bomb squad is at the Pacific Station at 12312 Culver Blvd. to investigate what looks to be a mortar round, which a citizen found in a home and brought to the station.

It may be inert but appears to be some kind of military ordnance, he says.
