A sailboat ran aground in Venice Friday night, but no one was injured, authorities said.
The vessel ran aground around 8:45 p.m. off the 5400 block of Ocean Front Walk, said a dispatcher with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The 30-foot sailboat had 13 people aboard, according to KCAL9.
Some of those on board were thrown into the water and rescued by lifeguards, said a news photographer at the scene.
They appeared to be in their late teens and had musical instruments, including saxophones, trumpets and guitars, the photographer said.
Divers checked the boat below the waterline to make sure it was seaworthy, he said.
The vessel was towed to Marina Del Rey, the dispatcher said.
