Spewing Fire Hydrant Floods Venice Street

The spout was first reported around 8:40 p.m.

A hydrant spewed water about 50 feet into the air on Monday starting at about 8:41 p.m.at the 13000 block of Zanja Street near Venice High School, according to LAFD spokesperson Erik Scott. 

The hydrant may have possibly been struck by a vehicle that then left the scene, according to Scott.

Six firefighters were dispatched to the area and no injuries were reported.
