DWP Launches Drinking Fountain Locator App

The Android app is designed to encourage Angelenos to reduce their reliance on disposable plastic water bottles.

The new app uses global positioning system information on the Android Smartphone to locate fountains nearest the user, according to the DWP.

"By utilizing WeTap to locate the drinking fountain nearest them, customers can refill reusable bottles and avoid generating unnecessary waste from the use of disposable plastic bottles," according to a DWP statement.
