Hahn Picks Up Another Endorsement

The Long Beach Lambda LGBT Democratic Club officially backs Janice Hahn for Congress.

Long Beach Lambda – the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Democratic Club - officially endorsed Janice Hahn in her bid to become the 36th Congressional District representative on Tuesday night.

Hahn was on hand at the organization’s general meeting to in person, which took place at the First Congregational Church in downtown Long Beach.

In an official statement released by Hahn’s campaign office, Hahn said, “We shouldn’t have to live in a [world] where we have to choose between good jobs and clean air. ”

First District Councilmember Robert Garcia also attended the meeting and said, “This is the woman we need in Congress who will fight for the South Bay and keep alive the progress our city has made in the fight for marriage equality.” 

Currently, the only other candidate seeking the office that will be left vacant by when she officially steps down on Feb. 28 is California Secretary of State .

Long Beach Lambda said it also invited Bowen to Tuesday night’s meeting to seek the group’s endorsement, but Bowen’s campaign office did not respond to the invitation.
