National Weather Service Extends Wind Advisory Till Friday

The National Weather Service on Wednesday extended a high-wind advisory for the Los Angeles County coastal areas until 4 p.m. Friday. Gusty high winds will likely create challenging driving conditions for motorists, forecasters said.

The National Weather Service said gusty offshore would sweep Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica, Venice and neighboring areas, lingering until Wednesday afternoon.

Forecasters are expecting winds of between 15 and 25 miles per hour with gusts up to 35 miles per hour.

"Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for drivers of high-profile vehicles," according to an NWS advisory.

Pacific Highway between Malibu and Leo Carrillo and roads near the Hollywood Hills are affected by the advisory.

A wind advisory means that winds of 35 miles per hour or greater are expected.
