National Weather Service Issues High-Wind Advisory for Venice

Strong, gusty winds are expected until noon Wednesday

The National Weather Service on Monday issued a high-wind advisory for the Los Angeles County coastal areas until noon Wednesday. Gusty high winds will likely create challenging driving conditions for motorists, forecasters said.

The National Weather Service said gusty north to northeast winds would sweep Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica, Venice and neighboring areas, possibly lingering until Wednesday afternoon.

Forecasters are expecting winds of between 15 and 25 miles per hour with gusts between 35 to 40 miles per hour. There will be a slight lull in the winds in the afternoon and evening hours, they said.
