Photos: Mar Vista Hosts Reception Party for Mike Bonin

11th Council District residents turned out in force Saturday night at a Mar Vista home to show their support for Mike Bonin who is running to replace Bill Rosendahl in the 2013 L.A. City Council elections.

Mar Vista residents Pam and Tom Ponton opened their home Saturday night for a reception in honor of Mike Bonin, who is running to replace Bill Rosendahl as the 11th Council District representative in the 2013 L.A. City Council elections.

Rosendahl decided earlier this year to not seek reelection so that he can focus on his battle with cancer.

It was standing room only as people from throughout the 11th Council District turned out to sign their names and endorse Bonin, as well as to spend time thanking Rosendahl for his hard work to date.

Mar Vista Green Committee member Sherri Akers told Patch, “It was truly a wonderful evening and we were amazed at the turnout given that we planned it while everyone was still focused on the presidential election and we had to compete with the rain.”

Akers added, “It was very moving to see Bill Rosendahl pass the torch to Mike in person. Mike gave a very inspiring speech about his dedication to inviting, encouraging and inspiring grassroots participation in our CD11 government. And that it coincided with collecting the first signatures and that Mike lives in Mar Vista – everything about the evening was meaningful!”

Let me clarify: All I tried to do was re-link to the video that was dumped when Patch revised itsRead More format. The Festival of the Chariots won't be coming to Venice for months.

One year, long ago, Alice Coltrane performed. Anyone know the year? Definitely in the 70's.

Thank you, David, for your lucid and edifying dissertation on Passover. You just about said itRead More all...I would only add that if people get a chance during the holiday to view the movie version of Fiddler On The Roof they will get a truly inspiring feeling for what it meant - and means - to be Jewish.
