Venice Neighborhood Council Candidate: Thomas Sauer

Patch asked the VNC candidates a few questions to help voters decide in the Oct. 28 election.

Editor’s note: This is one of several articles in a series of profiles on Venice candidates.

What would you prioritize if you were voted in?

Fraud deterrence and prevention in order to reduce abuses of power at the neighborhood and city council levels, Board of Public Works, et al (see Alarcon situation) and Constitutional violations (see LAPD / LA Sheriffs depts)

Who are your primary supporters?

We - the people - of our great CITY OF VENICE!

What issue do you feel most strongly about and what’s your position?

See above - whatever changes are necessary to enfore common decency - regardless the political cost.  New blood could be a good thing - very nice to see all the entrants into the election.

What's one thing most constituents don't know about you?

Financial compensation does not matter (bribes have been rebuffed, corruption will no longer be tolerated). Over the years we have enabled ourselves to become independent in fact and appearance - openness, transparency, and accountability are key (and sorely lacking at the neighborhood level, community level, city level) these persons and groups know who they are.  Some are even running for office.  Change is coming...

Thomas Sauer is running for one of 13 open positions as a Community Officer on the Venice Neighborhood Council. To read more candidate profiles, click here.

Let me clarify: All I tried to do was re-link to the video that was dumped when Patch revised itsRead More format. The Festival of the Chariots won't be coming to Venice for months.

One year, long ago, Alice Coltrane performed. Anyone know the year? Definitely in the 70's.
