Video: Rosendahl Urges Occupy LA Protesters to Respect Eviction Notices

The city councilman made his plea on the steps of City Hall on Sunday afternoon. Take our poll and let Patch know if you agree with Rosendahl's request.

Arrests are now taking place on the lawn at City Hall, with many ignoring Sunday night's midnight deadline.

On Sunday, Councilman Bill Rosendahl addressed the encampment, saying that while he supported the movement, they should respect the law and leave peacefully.

We are being subjected to a police state where protesting is not being tolerated. These evictions exemplify the suppression of our civil liberties including the right to organize, one of the basis rights set forth by our founding fathers. Police brutality is running rampant under orders from Governors who have their pockets lined with Wall Street and Special Interest monies. Stand up and lend your voice with these free posters I was compelled to design on my artist’s blog at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2011/11/propaganda-for-occupy-movement.html

Bill's pandering to this crowd is pathetic. The City's ability to help the 99% is almost nil. It's broke and almost bankrupt. Change takes place at the ballot box. Until specific legislative changes are identified and the public engaged to elect representatives to adopt them, this is all a Kabuki dance (Japanese theatre known for the stylization of its drama and for the elaborate make-up worn by some of its performers - in this instance Bill's American flag tie).
