In an official release from her campaign office Thursday, Winograd said, "In Congress I will introduce legislation to prohibit jet-use at airports where there is no buffer zone – and to restrict leaded aircraft flights near schools and parks."
Winograd stated in the release she will address possible next steps in curbing airport air and noise pollution at SMO.

The two other Democratic candidates running against Winograd - Debra Bowen and Janice Hahn - have also been invited to participate in the rally.
, founder of Concerned Residents Against Airport Pollution (CRAAP) told Mar Vista Patch organizers have not yet heard whether Bowen will attend, but that Hahn has already stated she will be unable to make the event.
