The Gardenerd Composting Workshop

Learn how to turn your kitchen and garden waste into black gold!  Join Christy Wilhelmi for a 2-hour hands-on workshop and learn to create nutrient-rich compost for your garden.  This workshop will walk you through the process of:

  • Finding the perfect compost bin for you (including options for small spaces)

  • Choosing what to put in your compost pile

  • Selecting the best location for your bin

  • Learning how to turn, aerate and harvest your compost

  • Utilizing your compost in the garden

  • Solving compost problems      

We will also be discussing Vermiculture (worm composting).  Bring your questions and curiosity, and we'll turn them into food for your garden! Choose from the following dates:

Class will be held in Mar Vista, near the cross streets of Palms and Centinela (exact address to follow after registration.)  All classes include hands-on training tailored to your needs.  Class format will include lecture, answering your questions, and of course - digging in the dirt.  You will take away a wealth of information that will leave you ready to get composting right away.  Wear clothing that you don't mind getting dirty.   But wait - there's more!  Each class will include a drawing for some great Gardenerd gear.  You could win one of the items from the Gardenerd Collection at Gardenerd.com
