Windward Baseball Players Earn League Honors

Five Wildcats make the All-Delphic League first team, three more make the second team.

The All-Delphic League baseball team has been chosen and it is full of Windward School players. 

Making the first team are seniors and , and sophomores , and . Earning second team honors are senior , junior and freshman .

Huettner batted .444 and slugged .574 with 24 hits, 24 runs, nine RBIs and nine stolen bases. He also pitched 17 2/3 innings, allowing 23 hits and 16 earned runs with 18 strikeouts and a 6.34 earned run average. 

Savitsky batted .429 and slugged .500 with 24 hits, 21 runs, 18 RBIs and 13 stolen bases. He also pitched 20 2/3 innings, allowing 24 hits and 13 earned runs with 21 strikeouts and a 4.40 earned run average.

Levine batted .417 and slugged .563 with 20 hits, 14 runs, 17 RBIs and 11 stolen bases.  

Kirav Patel batted .395 and slugged .558 with 17 hits, 13 runs, 14 RBIs and four stolen bases. He struck out only four times in 53 plate appearances.

Kunal Patel batted .263 and slugged .386 with 15 hits, 15 runs, 11 RBIs and four stolen bases. He also had a .900 fielding percentage. 

Helford batted .200 and slugged .250 with four hits and seven runs scored. He pitched 12 innings, allowing 12 hits and 15 earned runs with 16 strikeouts.

Brisacher batted .303 and slugged .333 with 10 hits, nine runs, three RBIs and 10 stolen bases. He also pitched 13 1/3 innings, allowing nine hits and three earned runs with eight strikeouts and a 1.58 earned run average.

Lurie batted .294 and slugged .353 with five hits, three runs and seven RBIs.

Windward (13-13) finished in second place behind Brentwood and advanced to the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division 6 playoffs.

One year, long ago, Alice Coltrane performed. Anyone know the year? Definitely in the 70's.
