Windward No. 2 in 8-Man Football Poll
The Wildcats hold their spot in the CIF-SS rankings after a Week 3 win.
The CIF Southern Section has released its weekly 8-Man football rankings and Windward School remains at No. 2 in Division 1.
The Wildcats have been second behind Excelsior Education Center since the preseason even though Windward beat Excelsior in overtime in the section championship game last fall.
Right behind Windward at No. 3 is Bloomington Christian, followed by Faith Baptist, Avalon, Lancaster Baptist, Desert Christian Academy, Rolling Hills Prep, Granada Hills Hillcrest Christian and Public Safety Academy.

Joshua Springs is No. 1 in the 8-Man Division 2 poll.
Windward (1-2) beat Santa Clarita Christian, 40-26, in an 11-man game Saturday in Canyon Country. The Wildcats travel to Catalina to tale on Avalon at 7 p.m Saturday.

In girls volleyball, Windward is ranked fifth in this week's Division 3A poll. Two Alpha League rivals are ranked ahead of the Wildcats. Brentwood is No. 1 and Campbell Hall is No. 3. Another Alpha League team, Paraclete, is at No. 10. La Sierra is just ahead of Windward at No. 4.
The Wildcats (2-2) host Paraclete in their league opener at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and host Sierra Canyon at 4:30 p.m. Friday
