Windward Squads Earn High Seeds

The Wildcats' girls and boys basketball and soccer teams make playoffs.

Windward School will be well represented in the CIF Southern Section playoffs this winter, as the Wildcats' basketball and soccer teams have all qualified for the postseason. 

The girls' basketball team is the top seed in Division 4AA and earned a bye in Thursday's first round. The Lady Wildcats will host either unseeded Riverside Rubidoux or No. 16 Azusa in the second round Saturday at 7 p.m.

The boys' basketball squad is seeded second in Division 4AA and will host unseeded Los Angeles Cathedral in the first round Wednesday at 7 p.m. If the Wildcats win they would host either unseeded Tahquitz of Hemet or #14 El Monte Mountain View in the second round Friday at 7 p.m.

The girls' soccer team travels to Chino to take on Don Lugo in the first round of the Division 4 playoffs Thursday at 3 p.m. If victorious, the Lady Wildcats will play either Moreno Valley or No. 4-seeded Torrance in the second round Feb. 22  

The boys' soccer team is seeded No. 3 in Division 6 and will host the winner of Wednesday's wildcard game between Riverside Notre Dame and California City on Friday at 3 p.m. If the Wildcats prevail, they would play either Villanova Prep or San Juan Capistrano St. Margaret's in the second round Feb. 23.
