VENICE COMMUNITY HOUSING GETS 5% OF WHOLE FOODS $ WEDNESDAY

In an admirable act of good will and giving back to the community, the Venice Whole Foods Market at Rose Ave. and Lincoln Blvd. will come to the aid of the less fortunate among us by donating 5% of one day's net sales to the Venice Community Housing organization.

V.C.H. is a non-profit housing and social-services corporation which has as its stated mission: "to preserve the economic, racial and social diversity of Venice and the surrounding area by maximizing affordable housing and economic development opportunities and providing needed social services to the area's low-income population"

This they do, in part, by operating 14 high-quality/low-rent apartment complexes in Venice and Mar Vista - which house over 400 low-income families.

In addition they provide a wide range of social services - both for both their tenants and for others in need of them, as well as conducting an active political advocacy aimed at protecting the rights and interests of the disenfranchised and underprivileged among us.

To learn more about all the good that V.C.H. does in our community, and how you can be a part of their efforts, please visit their website at  http://www.vchcorp.org .
