What's Up: Ocean Front Walk Safety, LAPD and Santa, Mar Vista Time Travel Mart Event for 826la

The Venice Neighborhood Council will vote for its recommended safety enhancements for Ocean Front Walk Monday. Santa will also make the rounds in Venice thanks to LAPD.

Here are five things for your Monday and beyond in Venice-Mar Vista:

  1. The Venice Neighborhood Council board will vote Monday night on what the governing body wants to put forth as a motion for the Los Angeles City Council to consider implementing for safety purposes on Ocean Front Walk. The meeting will be held in the Westminster Elementary School auditorium at 1010 Abbot Kinney Blvd. from 7-10 p.m. The agenda is attached to this article as a PDF.
  2. Santa will cruise Venice and Mar Vista neighborhoods on Monday, Dec. 2 and Tuesday, Dec. 3. Details and schedule here.
  3. The Mar Vista Time Travel Mart, 2515 Venice Blvd., is holding a private, after-hours holiday shopping event Thursday beginning at 6 p.m. The shopping event will include "holiday goodies, free gift wrapping, and your member discount while mingling with fellow 826LA supporters," according to 826la.org in an online report. 826LA, a nonprofit writing and tutoring center, provides a variety of free opportunities for students ages 6–18.
