Arachnophilia Crawls into G2 Gallery

G2 Gallery hosts the spider photography exhibit just in time to get guests into the Halloween spirit.

G2 Gallery is currently showing its creepy, crawly "Arachnophilia" photography display at its Venice location, a perfect stop to make during this Sunday's Abbot Kinney Festival to get the Halloween festivities started.

Photographers Rebecca Jackrel and Miriam Schulman are the artists behind the spider-based project. Jackrel is an award-winning nature photographer, and Schulman an artist and studio owner.

The two artists capture these eight-legged creatures with their unique color patterns in their natural environment across different regions of the world. The photographs not only bring their viewers closer to the species that many people fear, but they also teach how beautiful and important spiders are to our ecosystems.

G2 Gallery will host a reception for the Arachnophilia exhibit on Oct. 29, just in time for Halloween, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m at 1503 Abbot Kinney Blvd. The gallery will also be open during Sunday's Abbot Kinney Festival.
