Foodie Fare 'Dishcrawl' Heads to Venice

Dishcrawl takes food lovers on a gourmet adventure through four distinctive restaurants in one night, similar to a pub crawl, but with food. It will be in Venice on June 26.

Come eat, drink and be merry by heading to Venice's first ever Dishcrawl event on June 26, when food lovers can mix and mingle and sample the fare of local eateries.

Dishcrawl, a national startup that has already launched in more than 100 cities across the US and Canada, is expanding to Venice. It takes food lovers on a gourmet adventure through four distinctive restaurants in one night, similar to a pub crawl, but with food. According to a company release, Venice was chosen as its next hub because the community  is "greatly influenced by the city's creative atmosphere."

"I was always envious of those people on TV who would greet restaurant chefs and owners on a first name basis and who would order ‘the usual,’” Los Angeles Dishcrawl Ambassador, Kenny Azama said in a statement. “What’s great about Dishcrawl is not only do we focus on introducing food lovers to restaurants’ signature dishes, but also to the chefs and owners behind those dishes. We believe that in doing so, we'll help form a stronger bond within the food communities that already play a large role in the Venice culture."

On June 26, food lovers can take part in the event in Venice. However, participating restaurants are kept secret until two days before the event, when the location will be revealed to ticket holders who must purchase their tickets in advance. Tickets are $45 and can be purchased at  dishcrawl.com/venice. Also, $5 from every Dishcrawl ticket will go directly to providing relief for victims of the Oklahoma tornados. (Use the word “oklahoma” at checkout to give to the cause.)
