Get Some Cheer with Live Music and Green Events This Week
Take your local Lakers fans out for some entertainment this week, and keep them from wallowing in their disappointment.
This time of year, people in Los Angeles are used to gathering at their local watering holes and soaking in NBA victories. Not so, this year.
But, never fear. There is no lack of things to keep you occupied in Venice.
On Tuesday, there is a green networking event at The G2 Gallery from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. This is a networking event for owners and decision-makers in L.A.'s burgeoning green economy. Plus, you can bring your old batteries, cell phones, clean, dry and empty plastic bags and the host, the Green Business Network will properly dispose of them. Drinks and snacks will be provided. On the same night, at The Talking Stick, Danny Moynihan and special guest musicians/vocalists perform from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Danny is known as the ringmaster for his band, Superbroke Brass and Tin and Strings Electric Marching Band Ensemble. This time, it's Danny and fellow musicians Richard Fultineer and Austin Nicholsen with guest artists. Free and fun! 1411 Lincoln Blvd. Free parking in front and back.
Continuing with the live music, on Wednesday Suzy Williams will perform at Danny's Venice. Suzy sings her heart out, wearing her trademark brightly colored wig, every second Wednesday of the month. Suzy stuns the crowd with her amazing vocals, reminiscent of Billie Holiday. Free and fabulous! 23 Windward Ave. 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
