The storm system that moved through the area over the weekend toppled a tree onto a pickup truck in Mar Vista, covered the paddleboard tennis courts on Venice Beach with mounds of sand and sent numerous palm tree fronds flying.
While crews were working Monday morning to clean up the mess, forecasters predicted a nice turn in the weather.
It should be mostly sunny through most of the week with a high near 57 degrees Monday with high temperatues in the low- to mid-60s through Thursday, according to a forecast from the National Weather Service.
The slight warming trend should end Friday when cooler and cloudier conditions will move in and there's also a chance of rain over the weekend, forecasters said.
The cold front that brought rain and strong winds into the area over the weekend has been making its way east and is being replaced by a ridge of high pressure that will bring warmer weather, the forecasters said. The forecast said that "Wednesday and Thursday will be the stars" of the week.
