Motorcyclists to Cruise PCH from Venice to Malibu

Motorcyclists will ride from Venice up the coast to Pepperdine University in Malibu and back Saturday as part of the 2013 Venice Vintage Motorcycle Rally, now in its sixth year.

Bikers will meet beginning at 8 a.m. at 1624 Abbot Kinney Boulevard, about a block north of Venice Boulevard at Palms Boulevard, and leave at 9 a.m. for the cruise up the coast on Pacific Coast Highway. The Moto-Rally will be held from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. 2150 Dell Avenue.

Everyone is welcome to ride or attend the event, according to the rally website.

A 1965 Honda CB 160-R Cafe Racer bike worth $10,000 (donated by SS Classics in Venice and nicely restored and brought to life) will be raffled off at the rally. The winner need not be present to win. Raffle tickets are $10 each and available only at the rally. The rally benefits the LAFD Foundation.

The rally will include a beer garden, vendor booths, live music throughout, bike judging in several categories and raffle prizes throughout.

Attendees are asked to bring a new or used helmet in good condition (open face only) to donate to The Helmet Project, a non-profit company that teaches motorcycle safety in impoverished countries.
