Yard Sale Planned for This Weekend in Mar Vista
Area residents will join together for a neighborhood yard sale.
Dozens of homeowners are expected to take part this weekend in the "Mar Vista Neighborhood Yard Sale."
Nearly 35 have already registered, according to organizer Laurie Woolner.
A similar yard sale was held last month and was a unifying force for the neighborhood, Woolner said.

"The yard sale was quite a success," Woolner said. "We had over 50 homes participating, and it really brought a sense of community to the area."
Anyone is invited to stop and shop at the yard sale, according to Woolner. In order to participate as a vendor, Mar Vista residents must live in a designated area that includes Rose Avenue, Beethoven Street and Walgrove Avenue.

The starting point of the yard sale is at 3557 Redwood Avenue. Woolner, who is also a local real estate agent, sees the yard sale as beneficial for all of her neighbors.
"I do it to help them clear their clutter," Woolner said.
This weekend's yard sale is scheduled to take place from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 5. To sign up, or to find out more information, call (310)699-0980.
