2nd Venice Music Crawl Saturday on the Lincoln Corridor

The Lincoln Boulevard corridor will come alive with the second Venice Music Crawl Saturday from noon to 10 p.m.

The free multi-venue music festival will feature more than 70 Southland artists on multiple stages in nine closely clustered venues. The Lincoln goes from Rose Avenue to Washington Boulevard.

“The first VMC proved we had something special on our hands,” said Mark Rojas, Venice Music Crawl co-founder, in a press release. “We were very excited about it but we want to remain focused on our mission. That means working hard and being prepared for the long haul to keep delivering an exciting, community-driven music experience.”

Festival venues are the Boys & Girls Club (two stages), Wurstkuche, Witzend, Talking Stick, Floyd’s 99 Barbershop, Red Garter Club, Venice Love Shack, Young Artists United and The Quest by Hayley Starr.

Venice Music Crawl will offer an all-new interactive app that gives its users real-time festival information. Band bios, set times, venues and a map in an app reflect the creative influx of the tech trends of the Silicon Beach community that's taken root in Venice.

The first Venice Music Crawl, held in June, brought roughly 4,000 music lovers, aka foot traffic, to businesses along the corridor. More than 65 musical acts played in seven venues.

"We are extremely pleased to be partnering with VMC for a second time,” said Bryan Westbrook, general manager of Wurstkuche. “The restaurant is celebrating its two-year anniversary in Venice and we're proud to be a part of VMC’s revitalization of the Lincoln Boulevard business district. I couldn't think of a better, more enjoyable way to celebrate."

The festival offers music from all sorts of genres, including Indie Rock and Experimental Electronic. Artists expected to play include SoFar Sounds, Das Tapes, Soft Shadows, Bixby Knolls, Crash Landon, The Strands, LA Font, Sea Lions, Valida, Julia Othmer, Keaton Simons, Midnight Therapy, Decorator, Josh Brooks, Strange Love, Steffi Graff, SoSuperSam, Whitney Fierce, Hobart W Fink, Human Life, Death House of Love, Planet Rock, Glow Marrow, Dead Times, Kid Cadaver, choBOT, Matthew Tembo and Afroroots, War Child and others.
