House of Ink Artist Struck in Hit-and-Run

Man was hospitalized with several broken bones and is now in stable condition.

A tattoo artist who works at House of Ink in Venice was struck on Sunday while riding his bicycle on Venice Boulevard by a hit-and-run driver, according to an employee of the tattoo shop.

The artist, Sonny Hoklopubbe, was taken to UCLA medical center and is now in stable condition. He suffered a partially collapsed lung, eight broken ribs, a broken collarbone and a broken jaw, according to House of Ink’s Facebook page

The Los Angeles Police Department does not have any further information on the case.
