Northbound 405 Lanes To Close Overnight Friday, Saturday

Contractors working on the I-405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements Project in west Los Angeles will once again close down all northbound lanes of the 405 freeway for two nights this weekend.

From 11 p.m. until 9 a.m., all of the northbound lanes will be closed between the Santa Monica Boulevard off-ramp to the Santa Monica Boulevard on-ramp, according to a notification from Metro. California Highway Patrol and traffic enforcement officers will be deployed during the closure to direct traffic and close down streets.

Metro said that the closures will help crews work on the piece of roadway that connects the freeway to the freeway bridge that passes over Santa Monica Boulevard.

Detour: Exit the 405 freeway at the Santa Monica Boulevard off-ramp, proceed straight through the traffic light at Santa Monica Boulevard, then re-enter the freeway via the Santa Monica Boulevard on-ramp.

In addition to the freeway closure, the following ramps and streets will also be closed from 11 p.m. to 9 a.m.:

  •     Northbound on-ramp from Olympic Blvd.
  •     Santa Monica Blvd. from Sawtelle Blvd. to Sepulveda Blvd.
  •     Southbound on-ramp from Santa Monica Blvd.
  •     Southbound off-ramp to Santa Monica Blvd.
  •     I-10 west connector to northbound I-405
  •     I-10 east connector to northbound I-405
What to expect:
  •     Construction schedule is subject to change based on daily progress and field conditions.
  •     Notification of ramp closures will be provided on a daily basis through the PM Closure e-mail notices. Subscribe to daily e-mail alerts at www.metro.net/405.
