Pretrial Hearing Date Set for Suspect in Youth Pastor's Murder

A pretrial hearing date was set on Thursday for one of the suspects in the murder of Oscar Duncan last June.

Suspected gang member Kevin Dwayne Green made a court appearance on Thursday at the Los Angeles Superior Court Airport Courthouse.

Two other suspects, Hopeton Parsley and Nichole Sheran, also face murder charges in Duncan's death.

Duncan, a 2006 graduate of Venice High School and a former "Youth of the Year" with the Boys & Girls Club of Venice, was gunned down June 4, 2012, about 10:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Santa Clara Avenue.

Duncan, who was also a former homecoming king and captain of his high school's football team, had worked as a mentor at the Venice Boys & Girls Club.

Green is due back in court on June 27 for a pretrial hearing.
