Rosendahl: 'There Shouldn't be a Single Homeless Veteran'

A Vietnam veteran himself, Councilman Bill Rosendahl howed his support for all U.S. veterans at the Veterans Vox 365 event at City Hall on Tuesday.

The United States Veterans’ Artists Alliance held an event Tuesday night at City Hall to celebrate the literary works of American veterans.

The veterans were introduced by Vietnam veteran and 11th District Councilman Bill Rosendahl at the Veterans Vox 365 event, where each presenter read their own work.

“The idea behind Veterans Vox 365 and everything we do with the United States Veterans Artists Alliance is to give veterans a sense of what it is to be a veteran, to help them take pride in their service,” USVAA’s Art Director Keith Jeffreys stated in an article on www.laprogressive.com.

Speaking to the attendees at the free event, Rosendahl talked about his work in helping homeless veterans find permanent housing through a voucher system.

"If you're a vet and homeless come to me and we'll get you set up [with permanent housing]," he said. " There shouldn't be a single homeless veteran... Anybody who wore [a U.S. service] uniform should be given support."
