St. Patrick's Day Hits Venice

Here are some things you can do to celebrate.

St. Patrick's Day is a day when many Americans – Irish or not – celebrate Irish heritage. Here in Venice, there are activities for adults and kids alike.

On Thursday, March 17, check out some of these St. Patrick's Day festivities:

At , "A Gaelic Gathering" will be happening in the auditorium at 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. with the Music Center Assembly. Suggested donation: $5 - 10.

The is having a special St. Patrick's Day edition. Venice Patch will have more on the top places to check out Thursday morning. (Stay tuned).

Just over the Santa Monica line is O'Brien's Pub. With a name like that, you can be sure the Guinness will be flowing Thursday night. And Thursday morning. In fact, if getting a stool at the bar is important to you, we suggest going early. Doors open at 6 a.m., Irish breakfast is served until noon, and the live music starts at 1:30 p.m.

Venice Paparazzi is reporting that Cabo Cantina is having two for one drinks from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Shamrock decorations will undoubtably be involved, if you prefer to celebrate the Irish by way of Mexico.
