Newman and Goldman have been friends since the 1970's. "Richard is a great songwriter and I thought many of our fans might enjoy a night at The Talking Stick devoted to him. He's also a copywriter. A lot of movie and TV show posters out there have his taglines. Cool. I'll interview him, ask him about certain songs, he'll sing them, either alone or with his wife, Christie Mellor. There might be other surprise guests. It will be very relaxed, but structured. I might sing a few tunes myself. My band will be on hand. I've been wanting to do this for some time and 2014 seems like the right year."
