Great Venice Toy Drive Prep in Motion

You can help sort unsold children's books that will be given to youngsters in December.

Anyone who'd like to help sort children's books that will be given to kids during the Great Venice Toy Drive can show up Monday beginning at 10 a.m. at the Venice-Abbot Kinney Memorial Library. No special skills are needed; books will be subjectively sorted into categories such as pre-school, K-3, 4-6 grade, middle and high school.

The sorting will make it easier to display the books at the Oakwood Recreation Center on Dec. 7 when children and families come to play in real snow, eat, choose a new toy and as many books as they would like. Santa also attends the party, said Linda Lucks, president of the Venice Neighborhood Council.

Volunteers can stay as long as they have time until the approximately 25 boxes of books are sorted.

The books being sorted are those that went unsold during Saturday's fundraising book sale at the library.
