Explore the Possibilities of What Santa Monica Airport Could Be

A local bike group will be at the Mar Vista Farmers' Market Sunday to present information on making the airport something other than an airport.

Individuals interested in exploring what Santa Monica Airport could be when the City of Santa Monica's contract with the Federal Aviation Administration expires in 2015 are invited to visit the Mar Vista Farmers’ Market Green Tent, at Grand View and Venice Boulevards, this Sunday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Members of Santa Monica Spokes, a local chapter of the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition, will be on hand to discuss the potential bicycle connectivity the airport land presents and an upcoming bike round around the Santa Monica Airport, which encompasses 227 acres. Spokes members will also present information about the impact of the airport, which includes air pollution, noise, sustainability and safety.
