2 Injured in Multistory Apartment Building Fire in Venice

The cause of the fire was under investigation.

A man was hospitalized with minor injuries and a woman was treated at the scene for minor injuries after a small fire in a multistory apartment building in Venice early today, authorities said.

Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Eric French said the fire at 4 East 20th Ave. in Venice was reported around 2:50 a.m. and confined to a single apartment. It was knocked down by 46 firefighters in 17 minutes, French said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
