405 Freeway Cleared After Fatal Motorcycle Accident

I was on the 405 freeway southbound going to LAX with a passenger around 6:30 pm. The traffic was at a stop around Culver Blvd. It was about a 30 minute delay and since it's a $40.00 flat rate from West Hollywood to LAX it's a loss of time for me to be in traffic ....
I was upset and irritated all the way to the point of the scene of the Accident, there was a blue Coroners Van and several CHP units with 3 lanes and carpool lane closed... My entire attitude and demeanor changed when I saw the Motorcycle down and an object covered in a yellow tarp. I started thinking who cares about the traffic or loss of time ... there lies a human being who lost his life tonight ..someones father,husband, son is not coming home ... putting it all in perspective a little delay in traffic is the least of our problems considering the people who are involved in the accident how they must be feeling injured or loss of life or property... So next time your upset because of an accident on the freeway put it all in perspective thst it's not so bad .... God Bless

David , Thank You ..I too was on the frwy I passed at around 6 pm prior to the coroner arriving ,when I looked over all I see and all that has stuck in my mind is the mans boots that were sticking out from the tarp ..after complaining for 2 hours about the traffic I felt sick to my stomach ..I have seen fatal accidents before but I dont think any have affected me this way - People need to slow down and pay attention ..life can end in an instant . I hope his name and info will be posted once his family is notified ,for some reason I feel compelled to attend his service if allowed and pay my respects as what I saw may have changed me forever .

I too was on the 405 last night about 6:30 pm -7:30pm and my heart sank when i see the coroners vans and the mans bike lay on the road. My heart sank and i cried and said a prayer for him in his family. Life is so precious!As i wife of a fellow biker it hit home for me that this poor man will not be going home to his family. My god bless the victim and his family my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I was also on the 405 last night - I kept reminding myself before I got to the accident to be thankful it wasn't me. When I did pass the scene it really affected me too. Seeing him covered in a tarp. I didn't see his motorcycle, and the Coroner wasn't there yet. I just kept thinking the guy was probably on his way home from work on the same route I take every night....and his family was probably wondering at that moment where he was.

I WAS ALSO ON THE 405FRWY AROUND 530PM YESTERDAY. I PASSED THE SCENE AN INSTANTLY FELT NASEAUS. I HOPE PEOPLE LOOK TWICE FOR MOTORCYCLIST U CAN SAVE SOMEONES LIFE OR FAMILY MEMBER. I AM A RIDER MYSELF AND MY [PRAYERS GO OUT TO THIS 43YR OLD AND HIS FAMILY GOD BLESS MAY HE REST PEACEFULLY NOW

God thank you for letting me been part of a gret man, and co-worker and father to be in the next month have he in your glory amen. I easy for a human been to forget how prisious life is, with a dayly life. When life can chage in a second, my love to god, and everyone love, life and joy life with responsabilty.

Six months ago I watched in terror as a motorcycle rider separated from his bike, fly in the air, tumble and land at the median next to my car. To my surprise the tumbling motorcycle did not enter traffic lanes. A friend almost lost his life as well at the same stretch of the 405 while riding his motorcycle on the 405 in August. He was cut off by a driver in one of the regular lanes of traffic. Last night I too saw the body of the 43-year old in the road covered by the tarp. These accidents happen all too often. I ask for our transit system to make appropriate room for the motorcycle riders. Please do it.

Bobo56 if the motorcyclist you seen was riding a orange bike that was me and I broke my foot. I am back on my bike and riding again my speed at the time allowed me to make some fast decisions in a limited amount of time. Speed kills.

Gen-San was a Very Happy Manager, he was Also very Friendly with all his Co-workers, he was on his way home to his wife that afternoon, I am really going to miss seeing your every morning and afternoon at work Gen-San!!. We worked together and shared many laughter together and you tought me many Japanesse words along our jouney working together, Sayonara! さようなら(Goodbye! I WAS ON THE 405 THAT DAY , MINUTES BEFORE IT HAPPEN HE PASSED NEXT TO US AND THE NEXT THING THERE WAS ALOT OF TRAFFIC AND MAN I STILL FEEL GOSSEBUMPS I SAW WHEN THEY PUT THE TARP ON HIM , MY PRAYERS GO TO HIM AND ALL HIS FAMILY AND NOW AFTER I FOUND OUT HIS WIFE IS DUE NEXT MONTH MAN THATS REALLY SAD I JUST HAD A NEW BORN AND I COULNDT IMAGINE NOT BEING THERE WHEN HE WAS BORN , GOD BLESS ALL HIS FAMILY

I'm having a hard time with this especially after reading the newspaper article, it was full of inaccurate statements.
(1) It was a women driving the dodge neon not a man. There are several more that I will not discuss on this site.

Thank you for your thoughts and wishes David and Holli.
Our friend was on his way home from work that day. He passed away leaving behind his mother, two younger sisters, a lovely wife, and an unborn daughter who is due to be born this weekend. The babyshower that had been planned for the couple turned into a funeral for him which was held in down town LA last Wednesday, 1 day after his family was able to see him for the first time since the accident. I will relay your messages to Gen's family. Thank you again.
