Applications Now Being Accepted for Community Improvement Funds

The Venice Neighborhood Council has $13,000 in grant money to disburse to the community.

The Venice Neighborhood Council is now accepting applications for community improvement projects.

Projects can include community beautification, funding the arts and education or capital improvements on public property in Venice.

Grants for 2012 will be awarded up to $3,000. The VNC has a total of $13,000 from the city of Los Angeles’ Department of Neighborhood Empowerment.

The money can be awarded to individuals, Venice stakeholders or community groups, such as neighborhood watches or business improvement districts. Groups can even be established for the sole purpose of implementing the project.

Projects must be completed in 2012 within a 10-week time frame, between Feb. 1, 2012, and April 15, 2012.
