Councilman Bonin Speaks Out Against Medical Marijuana Shop in Mar Vista

The City Council member joined with other residents to talk about what can be done to keep the pot shop from opening.

More than 100 Mar Vista residents concerned about a medical marijuana facility opening in their neighborhood packed the Mar Vista Recreation Center auditorium Tuesday night. 

City Council member Mike Bonin, who lives in Mar Vista and represents the community, spoke against the Highland Park Patient Collective Medical Marijuana Facility opening at 3472 Centinela Blvd. as did countless residents.

An attorney from the Los Angeles City Attorney's office addressed Proposition D from a legal perspective.

The Mar Vista Community Council Board of Directors and its Planning and Land Use Management Committee held the joint meeting to hear what community members had to say about the facility moving into a vacant building at the corner of Centinela and Palms boulevards.
