Sen. Ted Lieu's Santa Monica Airport Pollution Hearing Tonight

The Senate Select Committee's hearing on Air Quality at Santa Monica Airport is free and open to the public. It will take place at 6 p.m. at the Felicia Mahood Multipurpose Senior Center community room.

will tonight review the health threat posed by pollution at Santa Monica Airport in a hearing chaired by 28th District State Senator Ted Lieu.

The hearing, which is free and open to the public will take place at the Felicia Mahood Multipurpose Senior Center Community Room, 11338 Santa Monica Blvd.  Los Angeles 90025 beginning at 6:00 p.m.

11th District City Councilman Bill Rosendahl said in a statement, "This event is a great opportunity for my Los Angeles constituents as well as Santa Monica stakeholders to have a frank and open discussion on the . The panel of experts Senator Lieu has assembled will allow the general public to hear how this airport has become a toxic and dangerous neighbor."

Local Mar Vista resident Martin Rubin, who is the founder and director of Concerned Residents Against Airport Pollution (C.R.A.A.P) said, “How appropriate that this hearing takes place shortly after Thanksgiving because I and the thousands of Santa Monica Airport neighbors are thankful that Senator Lieu has been steadfast in his efforts to engage the appropriate government officials and agencies regarding what many believe to be a .”
