Free Gift Cards to Fund Schools at Starbucks
Need a little pick-me-up? You can get one for yourself and one for local schools next week.
Starting on Monday, Jan. 23, the Wasserman Foundation will be giving away $10 gift cards for DonorsChoose at some area Starbucks stores. DonorsChooseLA.org is a website where individuals can select to fund grant requests from Los Angeles Unified School District teachers.
to empower parents and community members to get involved in local school giving. Wasserman has committed $4 million to the project over the next two years.
The foundation is distributing gift cards to parents of public school children through their schools and encouraging them to donate to projects created by their children’s teachers.

According to a statement from DonorsChoose, the gift cards will be available in limited quantities. “For the best chance of receiving a card, we recommend visiting a local Starbucks early on the 23rd. We estimate cards will last somewhere between 2-6 days,” the statement said.
The gift cards expire on March 16, 2012.
